Yes indeed. When I use Power Foam to decarbon combustion chambers, you wouldn't believe the amount of solid black garbage that comes out of there. Blackened spark plugs come out squeaky clean after sitting in it too. Amazing stuff.

I've got a 2008 CTS 3.6DI with 110k miles. Runs perfect. Just before every oil change I run a can of intake cleaner thru the small vacummm line at the intake with motor running. All the cleaner touches the valves that way. It's my preventative maintenance routine that's been working. I run Mobil 1 Extended Performance at 6000 intervals.

If you worry about carbon deposits on the intake valves, you should buy an aftermarket oil catch can when the engine is new.
And how would that clean the valves?
BTW, that little bit of carbon does not harm, and that seaform really did nothing, other than change the color of the carbom

It goes through the intake valves, so it would work.
