Throwing this out there in case someone might know the answer.

Have any of you guys had success with a glue for ceramic dishes?

We recently used Gorilla epoxy on a cookie jar lid my wife shattered into four pieces. I think I chose it because the interweb suggested it had a good chance of success and Walmart would deliver. Thus far it's been great.

I've had really good luck with gluing ceramics with CA adhesives(Superglue), especially if the break is fresh, the pieces fit tightly, and there's nothing missing.

CA is really good about wicking into pourous materials like ceramics and IME the bond formed is at least as strong as the ceramic material.

Anecodotally, I have a favorite coffee cup I use at work that I broke the handle off of probably 2 years ago. I glued it back together with plain old Krazy glue(nothing special, one of the red cap aluminum tubes). You can see the break if you look closely, but it's held. I drink multiple cups of coffee a day out of it and carry it all over the place.

I've had good luck lately for such things using the UV cure glues that come with the little battery powered blue light. Not much body to it but makes a nice seamless repair. Not sure how well it would hold up to repeated diswasher uses.
