Theoretically. do FWD with transaxles have different lube requirements than a standard RWD transmission? Since transaxles have the diff built in.

I just want to have one lube for all my cars. Suzuki FWD car specs 75w80 gl4 and the Isuzu RWD truck specs 5w30 synchromesh type lube or 5w30/10w30/15w40 motor oil.

I'd be a lot more concerned that I am using the proper fluid recommended by the manufacturer than I would be about having just one fluid for convenience.

Besides, how often are you changing it? And are there large amounts of leftover fluid when you do?

That is logical. The suzuki takes about 2.2L so I have 750ml of leftover fluid that i wont use for a long time. The OEM Suzuki 75w80 oil is spec'd for 160,000km or 10 years--supposedly "lifetime." I've just changed the trans fluid a few days ago.

The Isuzu takes about 2.8L but I was able to cram 3.5L of Amsoil's synchromesh mtf in it before it dripped from the fill plug. OEM interval is 4 years or 40k kilometers (on mineral Besco trans fluid according to another forum) so I can probably extend Amsoil's oci longer. Leftover 500ml of synchromesh.
