Genuine Honda A02, 9413 miles

I believe this filter was in use for 4 months and 9413 miles in a 2017 CR-V with the 1.5T. Oil used was M1 EP 0W20.

The filter internals were in good condition but there appears to be a moderate amount of soot at the bottom of the can.

I think the soot is common in GDI engines so I’m pretty sure this filter was from the 17 CR-V and not my wife’s 07 K24.

Thanks for sharing. I have this same combo ready to go in the 2012 Accord 2.4. I plan on running it for a year, but it should only accumulate a max of 6000 miles during that time based on my usage.

This engine has a very well-known issue with fuel dilution in the oil, blowby, so if fuel is passing through the piston rings one can presume to think that a fair amount of carbon soot will pass through as well.

Nope, it was a Honda 1.5T in a 2017 CR-V. Turbocharged with direct injection.

I actually just removed the same filter from a 2019 CR-V with the same engine, but with 5K on the same oil. Will be posting that one soon for comparison.
