GC or M1 0w40 for 2.5 Jetta?

Isn't the SM version considered to be better?


Better for cold use, but has a lower HTHS.

I see. I noticed the pour point was significantly lower -54 vs -40.

Yup, the SM version was majority PAO, hence the lower pour point. The new version has more VISOM in it. The new version is also much less shear-prone though.
