GC is green and so is non detergent 30W

i bought some non detergent 30w for my compressor.So I start pouring it andnotice its green. Why is it green. I took a look at some detergent 30w and it was the golden color or regular oil. So what is the big deal with german castrol being green?

nothin...its just dye. whats special about GC is that its ester basestock and additive package

Just to be clear, GC has a PAO basestock with some ester components. I cannot be more specific than that. PS Don't get "honked" over the fact that the two different oils are green.
