Found it today on my way at MCAS Miramar autoparts shop. Grabbed 5 quarts of GC for $4.68 per quart. "Made in Germany" on the back and Green oil came pouring out. After changing out my 5,000 OCI Mobil 1 0W-40, I drove for 10 miles on the new GC. I then check the dipstick and the oil now looks light brown?

SurgiLube,

Not to worry...depending on the light, it can look brown or a little bit green on your dipstick...the magic is not in the color, although the color gives it "character."

I, too, recently switched from M1 0w40 to GC. After a short drive of 5-6 miles, the oil had lost it's green tint. I agree with pscholte; The magic IS in the oil, not the green. But, I don't think this GC forum would exist if GC had not been "born" green.

I've been having doubts as to the quality of the '05 GC & whether or not it's still green. I guess I'm just going to have to buy a qt. of '05 & have a peep for myself.
