GC good for 02 M3?

my buudy has an 02' M3 and takes it to the dealer for oil changes and they use Castrol 10W60?? Is GC ok to use for his car?? i told him about it but he just shrugged.....

I believe the 10w60 is a band-aid fix for these M3's which suffered spun main bearings in certain years when using the 5w-30 originally specified. I'd stick with the factory 10w-60 since these engines are extremely expensive, and there is a known issue the 10w-60 has been specified to address.

Castrol 10w60 is the ONLY oil you can use in that engine. No ifs, ands or buts. You can buy it at the dealer ~$10 a liter.
