new tires so a 4.1% error in millage and I've had around 600 pounds of sand in the truck for about 4 months

How are the numbers hard to follow? I see everything in 2 columns.

with lead being 2 spaces off normal?

Maybe the 600 lbs. is causing a little extra wear. Get the sand outta there as soon as you can.

no towing just the sand, a few ne PA snow storms, 1 or 2 scrap lumber trips (guessing close to max carrying cap) . No long trips, normal back and forth to work.

Oil was put in around Oct 31.

How much sand? A bed full of mulch (well, the most I put) in my 86 F-150 short bed weighs 1500-1800 pounds. I'd think sand would weigh more, but I guess it depends on the volume you are hauling.

600 pounds worth of sand tubes from Lowe's, and a few trips full of oak molding cutoffs 3" to 6" in length, 5ft box full.

My other uoas were better, but a different oil was used.

I love GC, myself, but there is no one particular oil for every engine. Now, as people say, it could be a spike, not a trend. Is this your first switch to this oil? What was the viscosity of the other oil you used? Might be worth another run, but if a cheaper oil does better, well then it's a no brainer.

10w-30 (amsoil or M1) was all other uoa runs, 10w-30 amsoil was the last oil.

Amsoil 10w-30 has given the best wear numbers to date. Personally I don't view these numbers as bad. Corrected millage is closer to 7360 miles.

You are right. The numbers aren't bad. But, I do believe they should/could be better. But you are working your truck a little, which will always produce higher numbers. I'd give it another shot, see how it looks. And do you happen to know the numbers from the Amsoil run?

Off hand no, but is you search tacoma or my screen name in the UOA form you will find them.
