This OCI car saw 4 track days with oil temps between 250 and 275F.

Previous 3 UOA's are also with GC.

Redline 5W-30 went in this time.

I am bit concerned about aluminum.

Thinking about it I realize now that I might have made mistake while taking oil sample. I didn't take the drain plug all the way out and I let the oil sip over it.
Given that my oil pan is aluminum that would explain the elevated aluminum...

I don't have oil cooler, and block is cast iron.

but what about sodium, could that come from the dirt on the oil plug?

Last I checked I am not missing any coolant?

Everything else looks normal.

What do you guys make of it?

You might have a faulty injector doing some piston torching, but I'd expect to see higher fuel dilution along with that....

well car starts/runs smooth and there are no misfires

no additives used except redline fuel injector cleaner, but I have been running that for a while now

Who was saying GC has bad TBN retention, Pitzel?

Check the oil cooler. It has a tendency to croak.

I'd check your cooling lines that connect to turbos or the turbos themselves. If you are running it at the track, heat or vibration may have loosened, cracked, or pulled the threads off something.

Any track days on the other UOA's?

The VOA's I looked at for Redline Oils show Sodium in them.

last 4 UOAs are with GC, redline just went in.
previous UOA had 2 track days

just want to make something clear:

for my previous oil samples I take the drain plug out and take sample after about 10 seconds of draining.

this time I did not take the drain plug completely out

and I let the oil drain over the drain plug (that was still in the oil pan hanging on a one thread or two), therefore whatever was on the plug(dirt) and threads(aluminum - as the oil pan is aluminum) got washed of into the oil sample

so that would explain high aluminum, but does road dirt and grime has sodium in it?

looking at the other UOAs with coolant leak on this car there should be potassium which is clearly not there.

You are aware that sodium chloride is "salt" right?

And PandaBear solves the puzzle :)..we did have quite a bit of salt on our roads this winter followed but record rain in the spring.

I will be monitoring coolant level closer these days just to make sure...

other then that I think oil did pretty well.

there is clear correlation between iron wear and number of track days during the OCI
