$4.19 a gallon for regular tonight....UGH I drive 77 mile sone way to work. that's almost 180 miles which works out to 7 gallons a day.....whens the election again?

He did promise that energy prices under his leadership would "necessarily skyrocket." He has actually been very effective at passing his agenda. He is a smart person, he knows what he is doing.

Sucks to be you. I paid $3.19 for regular yesterday. I guess you just live in the wrong part of the country. Oh, and BTW, it doesn't matter who you vote for, the oil companies are going to jack up the prices.

Come on now, its just free enterprise at work... Unless you guys elect a full on communist for president your gas prices aren't going to change for the better any time soon. Get a 2004 corolla and cut your gas usage almost in half.

I paid $3.09 yesterday. Today the same station is $3.13. And OldCowboy is right. No matter who's in the high office prices will be going up. I'm betting next year the new bottom fuel price will be $4.00 and be $5.00 avg. by summer of 2013.

Yep. Some people feel they can't lower themselves to drive a Corolla or Civic and then whine about gas prices.

Some people have elderly parents that can't get in and out of low sedans, but an I complaining now, no. When I bought a larger car I estimated what it would cost to fuel it at $5.00 gas and 24mpg.

I'll drive a civic no problem, but I cant afford another car now. also I had the truck for years and years and now I had to take on a job further away cause the economy around my neck of the woods sucks and no one is hiring for what I do. Would move closer to work but the rent is more than what I make. So what am I to do but suck it up....Just saw Lou Dobbs explain the prices, makes since to me why they jacked it but, still hurts.

brelandt- With a commute like that, and living in CA, it might be time to get yourself a cheap beater thats good on gas. Or get rid of the truck and get something used, I used to drive 75 miles roundtrip to work and that was expensive enough that I sold it for my Nissan Versa. My gas costs went from about $100 per week down to $35 per week.

dumb me i bought gas at my reg station, QT Wichita Ks. at 12:00 noon, cent time. cant remember if it was 3.29 or 3.39. it was VERY crowded. so i might have done good or not.

I drive 60 miles roundtrip everyday and I am currently paying $3.18 for 87 octane. At 30 mpg, that's 2 gallons/day, or about $31/week. I'm sure glad I don't drive an SUV, my fuel cost would double!

I have come to the conclusion my Mom is rich. 300 miles kust today.. 03 GMC Envoy XL. With a table in the back of it. 03 Envoy XL. 1000+ miles per week. Overcooled, too........... so it uses MORE gas and washes oil off the cylinders at 160 degrees coolant temp... with more gas......

Not so fast. I get what you are trying to say here but many perfectly valid reasons everybody doesn't run put and get a Volt/ Smart ForTwo/Prius/Insight/VW TDI/Ford Festiva/ new Suzuki Swift/Civic HYBRID etc. Lamborghiniband Hummer drivers have the gas money

Another one? OK, I'll bite. The gas market has turned more and more global in scope over the years. Third world countries are making their way into the current century improving the lives if citizens. You know what they want when they can afford it? Cars. 2.5 billion people in India and China alone. China knows their economical progress is underpinned by low cost energy. We laid the template! That's why they'll happily take all the oil from the Keystone pipeline and Canada doesn't plan on waiting to see if we decide to come around. Sure there's many other factors, but that is the biggest one IMO. One other thing I believe would help out a little is to get rid of all the reformulated gas regulations. This time of the year there is always a substantial spike as refineries change from winter to summer blends.

That doesn't make sense, unless they can afford, and are willing to pay a week's wages for a gallon, on top of the cost of ownership. Only works if they are getting a squillion miles a gallon, on a squilion cars that cost $500 and carry 10 people. We are being screwed, and Oz' $5.50 when our dollar is at an all time, pre float high is testament to it.

Need to check the economies of India and China ( or better yet go there). They CAN AFFORD and are buying all types of cars. Your assessment is shockingly wrong. meangreen01 nailed it.
