yeah, exxonmobil will just sell their gas to shell instead. you can fill up at the shell stations. or better yet, wait in line with ten cars deep at shell or bp. but there's an empty exxonmobil around the corner that everyone is boycotting with five cents cheaper a gallon. the sheep will run not walk to the exxonmobil gas station

Yep, the retail arm will run short on the "allowable" vendors, while their refining arm will be flat bickie, and off the end of their efficiency curve.
The retail arm will be crying for more fuel, which will be supplied by the "allowable" tankers filling up at the only oases, the others.
Shifts the profits a little, not much.
A few independent owner/operators go broke.
