Actually, I'm convinced we will see $5 per gallon in the not-too-distant future in NA. I saw $3.40 for one gallon premium in downtown San Francisco just yesterday.

Nonsense, no matter how badly hosed one gets there is always someone, someplace else worse off. That's an empty argument.

The price of gas in all developed countries is about the same, only the taxes vary by a lot.

If people in Europe and other places want to pay twice as much as we do including taxes, that's their choice, but few North Americans would put up with that king of taxation. Not even our friends in the GWN.

Not to be disrespectful, but it is a little ironic that that quote comes from a guy living in a state with one of the, if not the highest gas tax rate.
