That doesn't get them banned. I can find literally dozens of monogrades, let alone high HTHS multigrades, on the shelf and on oil companies' web pages. Companies like Petro-Canada likely have more non-ILSAC varieties out there than ILSAC varieties. Is my brand new Rotella, just recently introduced, likely to get banned soon?

When have we ever seen legitimate SAE J300 grades get banned anywhere in North America? I've seen oil companies dump things that are ridiculous or outdated, but that's not the same thing.

Just look at California and see what they don’t allow in their state.
