I am trying to find the owners manual or service manual for this furnace. It seems like Trane removed the document from their site and I am not able to locate copy via Google search.

I want to know if this furnace in full burner vs half burner mode. The glass site window shows burners are lighted and are blue but the output air temperature seems to be lukewarm. After I jacked up the thermostat I *thought* air temperature went up. I did not notice anything out of ordinary when I took the top cover off aka nothing to indicate that heat chamber was leaking heat etc.

At one time I had the manual and recall something vague about this furnace where it provided hotter air when needed but I could be wrong. I think I had similar concern often during the start of the season in fall when the heat is called for. The air temperature coming out of the registers would not cut it when the outside plunges below zero.

Try calling them when i had questions about my boiler i called Utica and they were pretty helpful of course if you have a plumber friend to call they would get even more information.

It should be pretty obvious if the unit is a two stage unit-typically the fan and/or flame will step up if the thermostat isn't satisfied in 10-15 minutes.

Being "lukewarm" is meaningless without some real information such as duct quality, duct insulation, distance to source, actual vent temperature, etc. It might seem "lukewarm" when it's 60 outside, but when it's 20 outside that same temperature may be adequate. If it is a 2 stage unit then it may be "lukewarm" for 10 or 15 minutes, and then ramp up to full burner temp/blower speed after that.

If you're in doubt then it's time to contact an HVAC professional and have the system serviced, cleaned and inspected.
