So i was wanting to look up the CCS values for Mobil 1 / Delvac 1. But they're not on the Mobil datasheets!!! Am i losing my mind (at a very young age) or did these get recently deleted?

ferb!

Relax, they are redoing there website right now bc on the two new oils they will be releasing. Mobil 1 R and SUV. I've noticed this as well. FAQ are gone two. Tech told me the new website should be up end of Jan to early Feb.

Okey dokey, so they claim to be putting in new info for some new gasoline engine oils.

What effect would that have on Delvac 1 5W-40, which is a HD diesel oil?

I personally have not had reason to check any Mobil datasheets in about 8 months. I usually save the HTML if a web page, or download the Acrobat pdf if available.

This had me concerned, so I immediately checked out the specs for Delvac 1 at:

http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXE2CVLMOMobilDelvac1_5W-40.asp

I was floored! This is Advertising Copy, not meaningful technical data. No HTHS, no CCS, no MRV. Hey Mobil, WHAT GIVES??

For comparison, I checked out the Delvac 1300 Super specs at:

http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/NAUSE2CVLMOMobilDelvac1300Super.asp

And they DID have HTHS and some CCS/MRV results. Not as much technical data as I would prefer, but WAY more than the Delvac 1 "data."

I couldn't believe it! I then checked out the specs for Mobil 1 0W-30 at:

http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil1_0W-30.asp

Just what exactly is going on here?? Does Mobil figure we're too dumb to read/understand technical data?? I can see that attitude with generic automotive oils, but NOT with their high-end Delvac 1!

It looks like some artsy-fartsy Graphic Artist designed the "technical" specifications page, then at the last minute threw out all that ugly data with abbreviations and lots of decimal places. Hey Mobil, I need way more than "pour point" here!

BTW Mobil, "pour point" is of no relevance to me. I need MRV data.

Since Monday is MLK Day, I imagine the Mobil techline is closed. I'm calling Tuesday to complain. This is insulting! Glad you brought it to our attention.

For your reference, I started my search at:

http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/Products_Services/Lubricants/Lubricants_Collection.asp

This is really pissing me off. I want to see the data for all of these. Plus, the NOACK data used to be available on the Esso Mobil Australia page-- not any more! They've converted to the horrible datasheets too.

I don't dare call Mobil tech support, we've all seen that gets us 5 different answers for 5 calls.

ferb!

I agree, this is rediculous. Ive emailed the mobil1 people, as useless as the result might be...

hmmm....if they don't want you to see it, maybe its not so good....might need to re-think my choice of m1 0w20 in my honda

Well, now I'm REALLY concerned. I called the Mobil techline and the guy on the phone was a DUFUS.

I wanted to know the MRV BPT of Mobil Delvac 1. Remember, this is their el-primo HD commercial diesel engine oil. It's $$$ and is supposed to meet all the builder approvals.

The guy said:

"Well, it pours at -49."

"So what's the Borderline Pumping Temp?"

"It pours at -49, that's it."

"No, I'm not asking what the Pour Point is. That number is useless to me. I want to know the Mini Rotary Viscometer Borderline Pumping Temperature as defined by ASTM D4684."

"The motor is a rotary vis-o-meter what??"

"CLICK!"

Just to calm down after that "amusing" incident I brushed my cat so hard he went bald!
