How to bring the war to main land America was a question the Japanese
gave a lot thought to...

1942 Japanese pilot Nobuo Fujita catapulted from the I-25 Submarine
near the coast of southern Oregon aboard a seaplane and headed east
toward Mt. Emily. His mission was to drop an incendiary (fire) bomb on
the thick forest and cause a massive fire that would shock Americans
and divert resources from fighting the war.

America was under assault from one of the most ingenious and dastardly
weapons of WW2 - the Japanese balloon bomb. Discover how Japan managed
to deliver these weapons across the Pacific and what damage they
inflicted.

In 1945, a Japanese Balloon Bomb Killed Six Americans, Five of Them
Children, in Oregon The military kept the true story of their deaths,
the only civilians to die at enemy hands on the U.S. mainland, under
wraps

This is not the first time we shot down a foreign balloon... During WW2 Japan managed
to deliver many of these balloon bomb weapons across the Pacific and inflict damage...
