Got a great deal on some real trailer tires for my trailer. But there is no way I'm going to spend $25 per tire to have them swapped onto my rims.

Got one swapped already.

Here is the outcome.

Clever technique (y) (y)

You could be both or neither depending on how you value your time and the time and effort involved, and whether or not you enjoyed the work.

Great post Chris. I grew up on a dairy farm in New England and you just brought me back 35 or so years :ROFLMAO: As of now you are resourceful. If the other 3 wheels go as intended and your injury free, success!

Nah. Either (starting fluid) works better.

Indeed it does.

I take the valve stem core out so air gets back in the tire quick. Otherwise, it can expand and deflate very quick and will do what a 1/2 full gas can does-suck inwards. I also spray a 4 foot line from the tire and light that.

It worked and there's nothing wrong with saving some money. I did the same thing to dismount a couple rear riding mower tires.

At work in the good old day we would change split ring tractor and semi tires. That was hard work. I probably would cry for 2 hours before I stated the job if I had to do that now.
