I want to make a slow cooker pot roast. Can I freeze portions for later use and if so how long can it be kept frozen? Thanks so much. Ed Hayes

Don't freeze any potatoes that go with it. They'll become like sponges. I freeze cooked or uncooked meat for six months easy.

Yep. Once you boil most potatoes like in a stew, then freeze them, they get a spongy texture.

We do. Yes, potatoes change texture a bit, but you're cooling, freezing, and reheating a food, so I'd expect it to change.
