Actor Fred Ward passed on. He was in The Right Stuff and Tremors. He worked great with Kevin Bacon as the 40’s something everyday man.

Thanks for the post. I never thought about his name but I knew I liked him.

Not all actors fit all roles and I'm not saying he would've but F.W. fit in to scenes well, in my opinion.

RIP. I liked him as Remo Williams as well.

Every time I see someone I looked up to when I was growing up, it saddens me profoundly.

Clip from Remo:

If anyone wants to watch the entire movie, for ol' times sake:

I really liked him in "Timerider". A silly time travel movie, about a dirt bike rider. What could be better, two of my favorite things.

I was sad to see it in the news a few days ago, evidently he passed away earlier this month and they are just now releasing it but haven't mentioned the cause of death yet. He was in Escape from Alcatraz which is the earliest film that I can remember him from, he also played as Joe Dirt's dad as Cody Nunamaker among the other films already mentioned. He was very talented and could do just about any role.
