Every time I see the TD Ameritrade ad on the tube with the tag line "surprise" ("surprise your house was built on an ancient burial ground"), I can help but see the BMW 2002 wheeled onto the set with a CGI'd front end...and pine for my old 2002 of 38 years ago.

...oh well....

The BMW 2002 was prominently featured in the movie with Anthony Hopkins and I believe it was Jake Gyllenhal, called "Fracture."

The BMW 325es was featured as driven by Jim Carrey in the movie "Yes Man."

The Datsun 240Z (280Z? And VERY often compared to BMWs) was featured as driven by Jim Carrey in the movie "Bruce Almighty." Then he got a Saleen S7 when he was given the powers of God.... which people have since said look good but supposedly aren't all that good to maintain, and the fun factor wears off quick (they say. Much like Lamborghini and the like.)

I like them both very much.

CGI...computer generated imagery...
The side of the 2002 is real, but the front end was altered...makes me sick to see what they did to my old flame.
