France: Battery bus fire

Saw this footage on twitter yesterday:


Not sure if this bus is full BEV or a hybrid, but this is an absolutely spectacular fire.

Most materials produce toxic fumes when they burn.

Imagine that going off in a car. Frig this EV business, the more I read about them and the batteries the less I like them. Where is Nader now?
It wouldn't surprise me if when more and more of these firecrackers start going up like roman candles the insurance companies stop offering home owners insurance and charge huge money for for insurance on one of these Ronsons.
My homeowners would not provide insurance if a pit bull was on the premises.

Sure, but I can't recall the last time I saw a diesel bus catch fire, though I'm sure it has happened. There was a CNG or propane one that caught fire recently too, but it wasn't as dramatic as this one.

Yes, this one was spraying flames, it was quite interesting, obviously the tanks were venting and what was escaping was being ignited.

Yeah, I think it was emptied right when it started, when it was going off, there was nobody on it.
