9k kms. 255 hours. Petro Canada uhp 0w40 was used in my 2018 Ford F150 5.0. The truck is tuned and sees 7500 rpm often. It also had a lot of towing on this oil change interval. I was down to 9% on my iolm and was going to wait a while to change it but I had some extra time today so it got done early. Another Ultra went on but this time I used Castrol Edge 5w40. Pleats are wavy as per the new ultra norm but it held up. I’m going to let the oil leach out of the filter and get some more in depth pictures once it’s dry.

Very nice post. Did you put another ULTRA oil filter on?

Thank You friend 🇨🇦🇺🇸🍻🍻

Yep another ultra went on. I don’t have any more in my stash. See what happens for the next change. But I’ve had good luck with the tough guards on our v10 work van. So maybe I’ll just go with them. Not like I’m doing an extended oil change interval anyways.

^^^ The wavy media is ugly ... but oil filters don't filter based on looks. When some torn media is found, then it will be a different story.

Haven't seen any reports of the new non-wire backed media tearing.
That’s certainly good to know.
My only other concern is that with the media swishing all around like is it seems like it must cause particles already caught by the filter to fall back out.

Thanks for the post. I certainly don’t think the Ultra deserves to be put up on the pedestal as the leader. Wavy pleats indicate to me that some of them were flattened against each other while under pressure. Perhaps that’s not right? The old Ultra with the reinforced pleats were kept separated. It’s turned into another bean counter oil filter.

It looks pretty good and the oil color is not black. I think I have a Fram Ultra on my Ford 5.0 as well. I will probably go with another Ultra next time but I wish the pleats were not wavy after using.

Thankyou !
Looks like "yet" might be coming to fruition, as it's now been reported that some Titanuim filters have been spotted without the wire backing.

Thanks again. On my way to advanced auto to stock up on the current stock.
