Fram Titanium is no longer metal screen backed. Ultra, Endurance, Titanium ALL are synthetic *blend* media.

A few months back - I had pointed out that one of my XG10575’s - with the unusual (not nested) waves - looked more like buckled pleats - and the spring was cocked to one side when the can was opened …
Of course the narrative was not about “leaks” then - but there is correlation - never touched that filter again - cut all the new filters I had - that’s when I found one of the twins had a soft seal !

I've read through this thread as well as several others regarding the current state of oil filters; synthetic vs synthetic blend, screen backed media, efficiency, etc. Hard to keep track of the changes. I like to use the best filters available regardless of price (within reason).
In one of the threads someone posted that the removal of the screen backing on the Fram Titanium was just a temporary supply chain thing and they all now have the screen backing. Has anyone confirmed that this actually the case? Is the Endurance still available?
What's considered a really good filter currently?

The Titaniums I bought last month all had screen backing, check the Honda Oil Filter Thread.
Checked out that thread. Thanks. I just returned from Walmart. They had one Endurance FE7317 on the shelf. The center tube looked different from every other Endurance that I looked at. It appeared to be more like a plastic or metal cage rather than a tube with holes or louvers. It did have a metal screen behind it. Is this something new? The date code on the filter was smeared but looked like maybe first few days of 2025. Tried to take a pic with my phone but it isn't very clear.

That's called and "Ecore" center tube (made of high temperature nylon), a Champ Labs thing primarily.

So it's a good thing, right?
In the early days many years ago, they made some with too wide of windows that didn't support the media well enough. But seems all of that has been corrected and nothing reported to be wrong with an Ecore center tube these days.
