This filter came off of dad's jeep. Oci was 5k miles with PHM10w30.

Filter overall looks decent, probably didn't like conventional 10w30 in the winter, definitely had some cold weeks.

Lots of carbon-y crud in that filter. Looks like the oil drain pan did after the first oil change I did on our Soul!

I'm guessing the HM oil did some cleaning!

Hmmm, somewhere around 155k miles. Last fall I noticed his coolant temp gauge was never getting to 195*, we replaced that thermostat and all was good. Wonder if it had a little carbon build up from not getting up to full temperature?

Dad only needs the Extra Guard for 5K OCIs. He could also use a coupe 3K OCIs, for that engine oil filter shows buildup / residue. Get that engine where he is still seeing a clear dipstick at 1K or a little beyond. Then return to 5K OCIs.
