Hello fellow oil nuts
smile.gif
. On my six FRAM FPS 3614 filters, date code is A52991

Anyone able to decide this?

Thanks in advance

Date code = A52991

The red number is the year: 5 could be 1995, 2005, 2015 ... etc.

The blue numbers are the day in the year, so day 299 which in 2015 is Oct 26. 2015 was a non-leap year.

So this filter was made Oct 26, 2015.

Zee0Six: thank you good sir:). Now I can go look at my oldest fu 3614 and two newer ones and de code em'

So If I de-coded Branson304's used FU XG2 that is:A51771 it was manufactured June 26, 2015

A52991

A = Greenville, OH
5 = 2015
299 = 299th day of the year (in this case, October 26, 2015)
1 = first shift

Same as any other Fram made in that factory

My oldest fu is A51031 or April 13, 2015

Here she is

These two "ultra synthetics" are made July17, 2015

No, you always use all 3 digits of the julian calendar. 060 day would be 29 Feb 16.

Farmer: you have to almost get a perfect light angle to see the digits as they are "etched" I call it into the can.

The numbers are laser etched very lightly into the paint. You have to hold the filter at just the right angle to see them. Car51 must have bought his stash of FPS3614s from the same seller as I did, they have the same date.

Use a strong flashlight and make the light come in at an angle to see the etched date code.

Yes it's insane how light they're etched I've had to spin it around 3 times before I saw it and they are always there. Considering I have great vision I can't imagine how hard it would be for the average guy to see it.
