Bought some Frams for my little BMW.
Installed one today.
These filters, heco en Mexico, appear to be very well made.
I showed the one I put in the car to my wife, who is well aware that a car should start when you turn the key, but who does drive a stick very well, and she agreed that it looked to be well made.
I also showed her the end that said "top", and asked her if that meant that I should install that end down.
This brought a smile.
Anyway, these appear to be quality filters.
They were aound $7.00 each from Rock, including shipping.
A decent buy, or did I err seriously?

Fram Cartridge Oil Filters are made into high quality standards. However, their canister oil filter are made like junk with cardborad endcaps and cheap paper media that looks like it came from your favorite brand of toilet paper lol.

Wasp mud. They employ millions of wasps to make the orange can. Those wasps, in conjunction with cereal box pressed cardboard is the backbone of the entire operation.

It's really green technology if you think about it. That's why they charge more.

I use either supertech or purolator cartridges. For my ectotec motor the fram model is made in china and looks flimsier than the supertech.

Fram Orange cans are very cheaply made. The Extended Guard line is equivalent to Mobil 1 and Amsoil filters at a much better price online and lots of times on sale or close outs.

Just going on appearance alone, I prefer Fram cartridge filters over any other brand for my application.

I don't recall country of manufacture. BTW, I did use the STP for my normal 5k OCI. No issues, visually.

Thanks!
I wasn't really trying to open another Fram bash fest thread.
I was merely asking others for their thoughts on Fram cartridge filters, which is what you provided.
I should mention that I used the orange cans for years on a variety of engines, and never had a problem.
It was not until I began lurking here that I learned that the basic orange can is not a good value, since you can buy better constructed filters for the same money, or equivalent quality filters for less money.
