Four Available.

I like to be completely transparent and up front when selling items, so I will let potential buyers know that these filters have date codes of 2014 and 2015. There is also one with a very small and shallow dent in the metal can, i have uploaded a photo, but the dent is so small its difficult to see. I bought these for $10 each when i learned of the design change. The clearance sticker was on there when I bought them, or I would be selling them for less if I had paid that cheap. I am just trying to get back what I paid for them.

I have ran multiple from the same age lot and even ones older like Fram Xtended Guard on my vehicle this last year and they perform just fine. I know people are sometimes concerned about old stock having bad glue, rubber, etc. These do not have anything wrong visibly or mechanically when I have used others this age or even older, they were stored well and have zero rust. The rubber gasket, and silicone drainback valve appear and feel to be in perfectly fine condition. I actually have a couple of Fram Xtended Guard filters that are way older and one is running on my car right now. They are solid and I would not be selling them if I had any question about the integrity of them. There is a youtube video from whip city wrencher I can link if anybody wants to see it of a very old Fram filter (way older than these) and it was cut open and solid inside. If stored properly they last decades.

I know my price may not be cheap and you guys may be thinking.. well i may as well just buy Royal Purple filters.. well Royal purple did not test as well in the Ascent Filtration testing, so I and most others would agree that the OG wire backed Fram Ultra is superior.

The reason I am selling is I have started using a larger model of filter on my vehicle, so I am selling my XG4967 model filters.

$48 shipped for all four filters. That is $12 each. I am firm on price, I know some people may not like that because they sell for $7.50 on rock auto.. but considering these are no longer made and the best of the best, I am in no rush to sell them.

I can only sell them as a lot due to shipping cost, if you are concerned about the super small dent in one of them (I have gotton them new from Fram like that so if its a major dent then yes i would be concerned, but a small one... no i am not) so if thats a concern to you then I will sell 3 for $36 shipped.

I only accept PayPal goods and services, I will eat the PayPal fee and ship for free with Priority Mail.

Let me get this right, you are selling your Fram XG4967 oil filters that have a height of 2.922 inches because you are now using the Fram XG4386 oil filter that is 3.469 inches in height.
How much more oil capacity are you really getting? If you believe that the old style XG wire backed oil filters are better, then I would hold onto what you have with the XG4967. I would rather have the wired backed XG4967 versus the newer style XG4386, I have enough wired backed XG oil filters for the next 100K or so.

Years ago I had a small block chevy and I went from a ACDelco pf25 which was probably a half quart oil filter to a PF35 oil filter that was maybe a 1 quart oil filter, I really do not think it made a difference. In fact, I remember when the ACDeco pf35L synthetic oil filter came out, they had it priced the same as the PF35, so I drove around to a few Track Autos and picked up 12 of them. They caught on because a month later the price was a few bucks more or so.

I would hold onto what you got and just use it, and if you sell the car, then sell the XG4967 oil filters or whatever you have left of the XG4386

More or less that is correct, but I have sourced a large amount of XG4386 that are wire backed. So I have enough for 150-200k miles. I do not own any of the new style ones without the metal screen. I probably won’t until I see testing showing it filters as well as the OG. I will run the OG or Royal Purple (Champion labs synthetic style ones) if I can’t get the OG Frams.

If they don’t sell, that is what I will do, just run them. But I have extra and I know some people don’t have access to the good ones so I figured it might be something that certain enthusiasts might be interested in.

This thread interests me because my 2018 Toyota Camry 2.5, 4-cylinder uses a Fram 4967 filter. And I did not know that filter would interchange with a Fram 4386. Which, and correct me if I'm wrong, is the same filter, only longer?

Yet when I punch in Fram 4386 on several parts sites, they ALL come up saying this filter WILL NOT FIT a 2018 Toyota Camry 2.5, 4-cylinder. So what gives?

Just means it is not cataloged for it. There is a lot of different filters that will physically fit a vehicle but many things like the bypass setting and gasket dimensions might not make it ideal for a particular application it was not designed for regardless that it physically fits.

Filter makers only warranty their filters for what they are cataloged against as applicable.

I can attest to the fact that, in my situation, the 4386 will fit in place of the 4967. Same thread diameter and relief valve setting. Confirm for clearance at your filter position. YMMV.

Be careful if you run these in salty winter conditions-literally ANY damage to the Sure Grip, even a small dent like you have shown, will allow salt in & cause rust. I guess $12 isn't bad, but I'm still finding wire backed AAP Titaniums (the same filter) for ~$10, and the total covering of the filter with grip paint is better rust protection than the Sure Grip/paint combo.

It's the same deal on a lot of Nissans they spec the 6607 (which is essentially the metric 20mm equivalent of the 4967) and if you look up the 7317 which is the same as the 6607 but a little longer and the same size as the 4386 they say it won't fit when it molst certainly will. Although these days Fram might be getting ready to cut the 4386, they cut them at Walmart and only have the 4967 and they did that with the 3593A size, it got cut at Walmart and now seems to be getting discontinued at more places. The Walmart TLE has always used the Core 6607 and Core 4967 in places where the retail book would specify a PH7317 or PH4386.
