So....

The oil blender can put any color dye they want into the oil. It means nothing.

(Several years ago I bought ten drums of CalTex 10W-30 in Singapore for a hydraulic system. Yes, this system required 10W-30. But the oil was dyed red! Of course it was continually confused with ATF, but, unless the drums were mis-marked, it was just a poor choice in dye color.)

IMO 50-weight is too much even for a 4.0 I wouldn't go beyond a 40 weight. Just my opinion- I'm sure it wouldn't kill the engine (nothing will). But it won't do it any good, either.

It would work just fine, as it is API-SL rated. MC oils are usually a pretty expensive option, though. How much is it?

I agree that it is to heavy for your application.
However, if you have it and want to use it you could always Franken-blend it.

1 quart 20w50 to every 4 quarts of 5w30 or something like it. Just be sure you use full synthetics all the way around so that you can extend the OCI.
And if you do decide to do it, please post a UOA.

Cool, total makes some good stuff. I was at a tradeshow a shile ago, and they had wholesalers their from total.

I actually just found a local supply of Brad Penn!

Good oils for using if your changing oil on st. Paddy's day.
