Found Performax 100 5W50 which I believe Johnny said was a real syn (POA?) and one of their best products unlike the newer Group III syn stuff. Johnny/anybody care to comment? It's A$66.50 a 5-litre jug trade price.

Sprintman,
D1 is cheaper @ A$45/5litre, over the counter at the local Mobil depot.

BTW, is that particular Performax 100 a US or Aussie blend ??

M1 5W-50 SS, $56.48 in todays Big W catalogue.
It makes my last couple of oil changes with D1 awful cheap.

There is 1L containers of Pennzoil 5-50 synthetic sold at the local Sunoco here in Canada, but the back label says nothing about ACEA ratings...so I'll pass up on trying it.

Does the Auzzie version mention anything on the label about what qualifications it has, ACEA, VW, etc.??

What does A$ convert to US $$$
Delvac-1 seems to be about 7-7.50$ here in ohio.
(just trying to understand this stuff)

I wouldn't pay $70 for M1 5w50....my local Mobil servo sells 0w40 for $69.95 for 5 litres.

$69 Aussie is about $50 US. So that works out to about $10 US a litre/quart. That's why I use dino.

Seeing as this thread keeps meandering............

As of yesterday,

Delvac 1 5 litre jug $48.15 incl. GST, 20 litres $188.20 incl. GST at Lowes Petroleum, Tamworth Depot.

I think I paid $303.00 for my first 20l 26 months ago.

FWIW, A$48.15/5litres, less 10% tax = A43.72= US$33.41/5litres = US$25.29 US gallon = US$6.32 quart.
