They are made by Prinx in Thailand.

I just got these installed on a 4th gen Firebird/Camaro, size 275/40-17. Date code 3324, 33rd week of 2024, so about 6 months old

Unfortunately, the Nitto Motivo 365 is sold out everywhere in that size, and there are no other all-weather tires in that size, so just save money and get something cheap. The only cheaper tire in that size is the Atlas Force UHP, but the order was canceled almost immediately, so I ordered the Fortunes.

No idea if they're any good but isn't it a bit late to worry about it after they're installed? They only list an XL , it may ride a bit harsh.

Is it a Camaro or Firebird?

It's a Firebird, but they're the same, so someone else with the same car might find it helpful :)

I'm not worried at all, and there's probably nothing wrong with them, but maybe other people might have something to say about the tires.

I think you made a good choice.. That is the Prinx Hirace HZ2 which I have read some very good comments .

How are they so far ?? .. And can you look at the sidewall and see what # of plies the tread is and also the sidewall ?

tread is 1 nylon, 2 steel, and 2 polyester
sidewall is 2 poly

A very budget tire comparable to primewell, radar, etc.
I am picky with tires I would have upped the budget but since they are installed now run them and let us know ;).

Looks like the main compromise was tread life(from comments) so you might have a good tire for a occasional use car.. where mileage is minimal.

This is good... Most of the cheaper tires like the ones mentioned above are only 4 ply tread and 1 ply sidewall and I would bet those might be where trouble can come up easier. Even some of the well known brand names are 4/1 like the Continentals my brother just got

Ah ...... Mmmmm ...... Not exactly.

Ya' see, the strength of the plies is also dependent on the size of the cords. In other words, a 1 ply sidewall could be stronger than 2 plies, if the cords are bigger.

For example, it is common for large off road tires to use a 3 ply sidewall, but that 3rd ply doesn't have to be there. Tire manufacturers know that some people think more plies are better, so they add - unnecessarily - a 3rd ply and charge more for it = more profit.

Ah... Mmmm.. Ahhh.. Mmmm. LOL

What are a couple examples of some modern CAR tire models from the SAME manufacturer other than the company you worked for where the 1 ply sidewall is stronger than the 2 ply?
