FORscan payment drama

Apparently FORscan suspended sales of extended licenses Dec 18 due to Russia sanctions. Paypro can no longer get the money to them. There's presently a guy (apparently approved by FORscan) on the FB group who can get you a license key once you pay him. Seems legit or the entire FB group is a deep scam <--- unlikely but read the comments and decide for yourself.

I re-upped on Dec 5 so wow my timing was good!!

FORscan says they're looking for alternate solutions going forward.

This is all a summation based upon BRIEF research -- if anyone has more info or I'm wrong, please post corrections.

I think this is important because FORscan allows Ford owners to do many cool things to their configuration & programming for practically free so long as you have a laptop and an appropriate cable. My year license was $12 ‐‐ looks like it might be $33 for now going through the intermediary.

i've never paid for a forscan license...
the Free 3 month extended has always been sufficient for anything i've needed to do.
 
I also renewed my extended license at the beginning of December. A friend of mine went to renew his the week of Christmas and was unable to get the extended, but was able to get the trial license.

I believe that's correct. I now wish I had, but I think that's been off the table for a couple years.

Still, at $12 (or $33) annually it's a great deal. Autel shudders at the thought....

I never realized, but apparently? I guess?

That might explain why there's an entire section in Russian on their forum and many of the users on the FB group speak broken English. Also lots of inquiries on models with which I'm not familiar, ie foreign market
