How does formula shell compare to oils in the same price range?I have been buying the oil for about $1.50 a quart. Is there a measurable difference between it and supertech or any other conventional oil? I have been doing oil changes about every 4K in a 3.8L Buick.

I'd say it's a decent oil for the price. I've used it in several automobiles and never had an oil related issue.$1.50 is a steal. I have to pay $2.48 for it at Advance.

It's been fine in the Spitfire from time to time. My brother also runs it full time in his Tacoma, which means the stuff is frequently abused with 10,000 mile OCI's. I dunno. Just seems like a sturdy, no-frills oil.

I've been running it for years at 4,000 mile OCIs in my 97 Caravan. The van just turned 225,000, so it can't be doing anything too terrible.

I've been getting some 30W and using it in a $109 Wally World lawn mower for about 2 years now. I use it for long hours in extremely hot weather and it is holding up well in a air-cooled engine. No engine smoke or loss of power so far. I think I caught the oil on sale for about the same price.
I'm impressed.

I have yet to use it but I've heard good things about it.
