We always knew duct tape works for everything

On our '06 Malibu the headlight beams were jittery while the rear bumper cover was rattley. The Chev body guys rolled their eyes and said the light fix was the wrap the headlight housings male plastic pins with duct tape until they fit the female slots tighter and to roll up duct tape inside out and stick in between the bumper cover and rear fenders. It all worked, but just think what a change for a long time body man.

One report hardly seems like a major issue.
Ford is being very proactive and taking care of their customers in this matter.

It is a situation that makes the truck more likely to catch fire during a crash, which would risk the life of anyone trapped inside or nearby. So yeah they should fix that. And much fire prevention is as simple as keeping flammable material away from an ignition source.

Since the seatbelt pre-tensioner is a pyrotechnic device like an airbag charge, wrapping it and keeping fire from the carpet using foil tape sound just fine.

Exactly. Stupid article title for clicks.

If it said "Ford recall fix uses fire resistant adhesive backed foil tape to prevent fires from airbag system in an accident", nobody would click on it.
