Well I logged about 120 miles on the van today, and I have to say, it ran like a champ. Seems to have more power, even when the engine is cold. It might be too early to be 100% sure but it was definitely an improvement.

I emailed the person selling those injectors and he is not sure if they will work in my application. I checked online and really couldn't find much info. If I have some free time later on I will search more. My injectors are gray, what I could find was the 4.9L from 87-91 used the same injectors. That information really isn't helping much with those eBay injectors. The price is good, that's for sure.

Thanks for the replies

I did, and I come back doubtful. I'll have to try and make some phone calls Monday. I want to pull the trigger, but don't want to be out $100 either if they're the wrong ones.

I dont blame you one bit for not wanting to spend money if they might not work. If you do buy them don't forget to use the Microsoft Live Cashback to save yourself some more money.

I'll check that out, thanks for posting the link to the injectors. I'll do some more homework. I wish the guy selling them was a little more informative. I think these are something he's closing out and doesn't know much about them. Man what a good deal they'd be if I was certain they'd work in my application!

Thanks again!

Doesn't the seller have the Ford part number? Maybe you could match it up with compatible applications. I think if the injectors are the same lbs/hr rating and same resistance they should work. I don't know if Ford used the different types much, peak and hold low resistance injectors and high resistance ones. Usually they used a very few different types of injectors. But you could check to see if the the new injectors resistance matched the specs or old before installation.

I guess in worst case scenario maybe you could get them and put them in right away and if they don't work send them back. I'm not sure if he says they are returnable but usually sellers will return an item. It'd suck to put them in for nothing if they didn't work though, and knowing myself I'd probably procrastinate and not put them in right away.

Not to toot my own horn but I think I was the first to say I thought it was the injectors, and it looks like that's the case so far

Yes it seems to be the injectors, a Ford tech I spoke to thought that could be the problem as well.

I searched high and low and don't see that part # coming up for my application. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I'll look into it some more. Seems the second cleaning via the rail has done the trick. Now that I disconnected the Inverse Oiler I'm feeding MMO via the gas tank, so the MMO is going thru the injectors now. I plan on running a few heavy doses of MMO thru the gas,, [250:1 dose] and then in about 1000 miles another bottle of the Red Line FI cleaner.

While I wait I'll look into the injectors. The few sites I checked for Ford Injectors those part numbers are not coming up for my application. So at this point I'm still guessing. The seller won't take them back, and finding out if they'll work in my van is my responsibility. He was pretty clear on that.

Thanks for all the help!

I'm still not getting any concrete info about those Ebay injectors working in my application! In better times I'd gamble with the $100. I tried calling a Ford parts buddy of mine in MI and he's on vacation, it figures. Anyway still searching for a more convincing answer, then I'll pull the trigger.

If the connections are the same and both his and yours are rated at 14lbs then there should be no difference. EFI was very simple in the 80's with many common parts.

I'll see if I can get a picture of the connections from the seller, including how many pins there are. Wish this was easier, like pulling one of mine and matching it up, and buying the stinking things. LOL lately nothing is easy!

i know what you mean. GM puts a part number on the injector itself and if you call up Delco and ask for a cross reference they act like they can't do anything with the number.

I'm not a Ford guy but I imagine the injectors all had the same connector. Most all injectors just have two pins. If it is the same lb/hr rating and same resistance I think most likely they would work properly. The problem is by the time you find out for sure if they cross reference the deal might be gone lol.

Exactly! I wish my contact at Ford was not on vacation! If it were the good old days the $100 would have been paid and the injectors on their way. Either they work or they don't, no biggie. Now money is tight and I really want to be sure before I possibly toss $100 down the drain.

I asked and the seller didn't know. All he said was I had to figure out if I could use them He stated in the ad the apps they work for, and offered no advise. Nothing is easy! LOL I think they are pintle.

OVERK1LL- I get the feeling this guy does not want to be bothered, because his answers refer to the applications he listed and the part #. He offers no more information than that. He has 100% positive feedback, and I think he is being overly cautious to protect that, sticking to what he listed and is leaving it at that. I assume any and all risk if I buy them and they are not what I wanted or needed. Such is life they say. In a way I can't blame the guy.

Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
