My 1999 F150 4WD truck has developed a squeek in the front end. I isolated it to what I think is one of the ball joints on the passenger side. It squeeks with I drive it, or rock it when it is in park.

There are no grease fittings, so can I assume that it is replacement time?

I thought the upper was sold as an assmebly only, but the lower was not.

Also, I frequently see the idler arm fail, so take a good look at it as well.

If the joint has no play, you could use a needle injector that plugs into your grease gun and lube the joint through the boot. It's not as effective as a grease fittings but it may give a bit of time before replacement is required.

We have oiled bad ball joints and they have worked OK , and they also have popped out soon afterwards!
This also may be a control arm bushing noise.
