Ford driveshaft splines

Anybody finding they need to lube the splines on their F150 one piece driveshaft? I was experiencing the well documented slip-bump and lubed with Motorcraft XG8 PTFE driveshaft grease about 16,000 miles ago. Just barely starting to notice it coming back so after my oil change with Mobil 1 5w20 and Napa Gold 7502 I pulled the driveshaft and re-lubed the splines. This time I used a substantially heavier amount of XG-8 grease and I am hoping it gets at least 20k before the next service!

Grease never really helped the issue on my Cherokee. I had to use anti seize on the driveshaft splines.

Don't have the issue at all any more since I switched over to a fixed yoke on the transfer case and telescoping driveshaft instead of the slip yoke.

9L3Z-4W602-A, it is normally for the 2 piece shafts but we use it on all of them.

Are the u joints still tight? With enough miles one should expect some slop in the drive line. On my old F150 the truck developed a weird harmonic condition when I was driving 45mph on level ground. If I let off the throttle and back on, you would feel a mild clunk as the splines re-engaged.

If visual inspection of the drive line doesn't show anything, ID chock it up to typical wear and tear.

If it's coming back it may not be the splines. I had that issue and the dealer did that AND some TSB for something in the rear that needed replacement. Cured it about 90% but what fixed it, oddly was an update to the computer as part of the intercooler TSB. It was doing it before the intercooler and hasn't done it since. Makes no sense but that's what fixed it for me.
