Sounds like it would have been great competition for the "awesome" Subaru Justy with it's CVT! If someone had told me way back in '87 that new CVTs would outnumber both manual & conventional transmissions in under 35 years, I would have laughed at them! AFAIK, Ford was never crazy enough to bring the Fiesta CTX here.
We had an '88 Fiesta 1.1 manual in the family when growing up. I learned how to drive in that car. I remember it fondly.
these things were popular in eastern europe after the curtain fell. zero rust protection really let them down, would be worth some decent change these days
