Florida State DNR Alligator Warning!

This is what was said; The Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen, golfers and tourist in general to take extra precautions and keep alert for alligators while in : Alachua, Marion, Lake, Collier, Lee, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Brevard, Putnam and Orange counties. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their shoes or clothing to alert but not startle the alligators unexpectedly.They also advise the carrying of pepper spray in case of an encounter with an alligator. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of alligator activity. People should learn to recognize the difference between small young alligator and large adult alligator droppings. Young alligator droppings are smaller and contain fish bones and possibly bird feathers. Adult alligator droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

And of course, people are being killed & maimed, and they're *still* protecting the poor, no-longer-endangered 'gators.

It's not the alligators' fault, they're just being alligators. You're more likely to get killed or maimed in your car than you are by one of them, or by a shark, grizzly bear, or whatever.

You are absolutely correct MarkC. On average only 5 people die in America due to alligators, world wide nearly 150 people die due to falling coconuts, and in america between the years of 1981 and 2002 there were 281,904 firearm related homicides. Who's more dangerous??
