flightradar24.com has some interesting patterns as planes divert due to recent events:

I flew on Qatar Airways over Iran once. I heard every sound that 777 made. Didn't love the idea of any kind of emergency landing in their territory.

It was fun looking out the windows, though. We flew over the Zagros Mountains and they are RUGGED. Many villages that have zero roads (at least from what I could see) and are served by a small dirt airstrip.

Looks like a pretty clear flight path between Israel and Iran. The coming hours will be interesting. Bet the Ayatollah is a little nervous right now. I suspect he's deep under the ground right about now.

Same, was able to fly over Iran in 2018 from London to Dubai. Coming back connected through Kuwait to Cairo was beautiful too, alien landscapes. The Kuwait airport allowed smoking, and boy did everybody smoke.

On January 8, 2020, Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 was shot down minutes after taking off from Tehran, Iran, by two Iranian surface-to-air missiles. Fifty-five Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents were among the 176 people killed in this national tragedy.

I personally knew one of those passengers who was on that flight, a lovely customer of mine with her Mom who was just returning home from a holiday vacation. To this day I remember her life and how it was cut short for no reason other than ageless hate. We remember you Alina and are better people for having met you. As they say tears are not enough.

Not surprised at all, I saw this coming. After all, what were we to expect after Israel struck at Iran?

There is much hate in that region. Been that for
thousands of years...

Considerably worse when certain countries decided to dip their hands in that part of the world.

Do we drop the bombs or Israel ?

They can drop their own bombs.

Well, it's not like either side hasn't previous attacked the other multiple times at this point, and no one needs to point out which side is a liberal democracy that mostly respects human rights.

Everyone should hope and pray that nukes never, ever get used by anyone. That genie needs to stay in the bottle forever.
