Hi Guys,
Looking for some advice. My flex pipe broke near the muffler inlet on my 2018 2.7 ecoboost after 65k miles. "Built Ford Tough" eh.
Curious how I can repair this. Ford sells the flex pipe integrated with the muffler for ~$425. Unfortunately I've only got ~2'' to work with before I hit the muffler. The pipe in that 2'' starts at 2.75'', necks briefly down to 2.5'' and then goes back to 2.75'' before hitting the muffler (see photo). About 18'' fore of the picture (and fore of a hanger) I have about 2' of straight pipe that could house a new section of flex pipe.
For repair, any better idea than a new section of flex pipe fore of the current location, and then try to put a straight 2.75'' pipe over the little 2'' of exposed pipe I have before the muffler? I was thinking about filling up the necked down 2.5'' section high temp expoxy to fill the void.
