Fleet Management/Observation

Not sure what this person did for the "police fleet" he references but in my experience managing 1,100 vehicle fleet we had a much different experience. Yes we were confined to budget driven bulk oil but had no 6.0 GM engine failures. Our Police Caprices did not have the cylinder deactivation systems. They were cam in block. They idled for hours in 98 degree heat and were pushed hard responding to requests for law enforcement intervention. The 4.6 Fords (Crown Vics) were auctioned and became the city's taxi cab fleet running for years. Bulletproof. Be careful who you listen to. It is the internet.
I've enjoyed reading this forum and have come to the conclusion that most folks on here are seeking a "feeling" that they have found the secret to performance and/or longevity. In reality following manufactures recommended service intervals using even modest oils are the keys to success with engines. By the way your engine doesn't "know" what's being poured in the oil fill spout!
