Plenty of M1 15w50 on hand as well at Rotella T6 5w40 and some Valvoline VR 1 from the recent Woot score.

Engines have cats of course, does the high zinc in the M1 and VR1 make these oils unsuitable in the modern marine engines?
Worried T6 will shear down during our 6400 rpm runs down LOTO.

Thanks

I think your concern is justified regarding the cats. NMMA has the FC-W (CAT) spec for just your issue.

I have never understood the use of various non-FCW rated oils in a marine engine. Folks advocate for it, but I think that's a mistake. There are relatively cheaper FCW rated oils out there, like at Bass Pro/ Cabelas.
