Hi all. What do you guys think of this product called Filtermag? It is basically a magnet that wraps around the oil filter to attract tiny metal shavings from engine wear. Here's the link. http://www.filtermag.com
Does it justify its price of about $50? Thanks in advance for any comments

I wouldn't bother. A good filter will take care of that stuff anyway. Also, do a search on this website and you'll see a bunch of posts regarding this exact same subject.

Don't know if any scientific studies prove if mags work to reduce engine wear.

But just in case I use magnets out of old hard drives on my tractor engine and hydro filters plus my F-150 engine oil filter.

Hard drive mags are very powerful and really cheap or even free.

When I cut open the filters little bits of gray metal are still stuck where the mag once was.

I wonder would the filter media have caught the metal anyway?
