Film strength - PAO or Ester?

Ferrari, Do a search in this thread topic on "film strength" and you will see at least a dozen hits of this previously discussed topic. From about June 12th to August 7th of last year there were quite a few discussions on this very topic. There is also a hit on PAO vs. ester that might be of interest as well. Cheers!

Theoretically, would Group IV (PAO) or Group V (Ester) based oils have a higher film strength? Which one should hold up better in high RPM, high temperature applications? Thanks

I've searched, but could not find a proper definition for 'film strength'. Is it the same as HTHS viscosity?
