What is your favorite brake fluid in DOT 3/4 ? Also how often do you have your brake system bled and replaced with new fluid ?

Hard to beat Amsoil.

I got 3 bottles queue'd up to bleed & fill for my GMC Sierra.

used wagner synthetic last time . On sale under $5 /quart at aap.seems good to me for my 18 year old corolla with new brake lines. It bled really easily with no air.one and done.

My street Vette uses Valvoline Synpower DOT 4. I bleed the brakes before every auto-x event (~16 times a year). I change the fluid out every two years or when the fluid goes from clear with a touch of amber to a light amber color. (If I wait until the fluid is dark amber, I'll boil the fluid in the calipers while auto-xing.)

I like Valvoline Synpower DOT 4 as as well. I haven't seen any actual data, but the race heads say its about as good as the waaaaay more expensive Castrol SRF.

Sealed can.

This.. I used the Napa house brand last time.
I don't really understand how one could be better than another for a daily driven car. Track day I can understand going to something with a higher heat rating.

ATE Typ200/SuperBlue (alternating). I try to flush the brakes and clutch annually, although probably not required with this "long life" fluid. I always get an improvement in pedal feel, both brake and clutch, after performing the annual change so - why not?

Generally use a DOT-4. Castrol LMA, ATE, whatever. I like using the ATE Superblue - easier to tell when the flush is complete.

The owner's manual on my Volvo and MB are very clear: every 2 years, or every year if driven in the mountains.

I flush the brakes on my cars every 2 years. Fluid is cheap, ABS modules, calipers, master cylinders are expensive. An EZ bleed power bleeder makes it simple - less than 30 minutes and no "honey, can you come sit in the car and pump the pedal?" routine...

What is the difference between DOT 3 & DOT 4 fluid ?
Approximately how many quarts of brake fluid does a passenger car / Mini Van hold ?

difference between dot 3 & 4 is the temperature.
a passenger car doesn't hold quarts.. more like a pint.
Remember the brake line tube is the size of a dulled pencil.
I flushed my double cab truck with Ate Super Blue and used only a half can.

the dot 3 is good for like up to 400 deg. while dot 4 can go up to 576degrees.
wilwood goes to 576, ate blue I believe is 575.

Last time I was in Houston I was in a plant that ran more than a dozen brands. One big tank filling the line, different labeled bottles.

Glad I asked (as far as the fluid capacity is concerned ) . I had a mechanic try to tell me the cost of synthetic brake fluid alone was over $100 for my Buick Century and with labor the cost would be approximately $200.00 . I thought : "That just can't be " ? ... *For a full brake fluid flush are you still talking in terms of pints and not quarts ? ...If so this service should be substantially less !!
