Fake Baldwin diesel fuel filter pf7977

I bought a twin pack of these for the truck. I have been wondering if they are fakes or real Baldwin filters.
If you go looking, you will see listings for pf7977 filters and some come in white boxes, origin china
Now the ones I bought claim Baldwin as the manufacturer, but if you click a single it claims Ivan-A (used to now again says Baldwin) and a instead different seller.
So if these come no box, or a white box are they fake?

Also if you click the Baldwin store, it is not 'Baldwin' filters. Makes me think fake then.

White box fake from china?

These look more genuine
But is there a way to tell with some number on the filter itself?

EBAY is always suspect for counterfeit products. Or other issues.

Amazon especially the ones that are sold & shipped by Amazon are probably a much better chance of being genuine.

I cannot help with the counterfeit determination. The scare was put into me about a decade ago when I visited a CAT repair facility and a person there told me that the excavator in their shop with the engine all torn apart was due to an incorrect fuel filter installed. It pays to be detail oriented about this stuff. I once had a farm tractor problem when I followed the wrong dealer advice about proper hytran fluid substitution.

When they get here, if they have a serial number or something, I can call them and find out.
This is a secondary filter in a 3 filter setup. so fail here is not going to kill the high pressure fuel system. I use a CAT filter bought from the CAT online store as the final tertiary filter a 1R0750 AHE or a 416-1225 UHE. Baldwin is a 5 micron absolute better than WIX or FleetGuard which is 7 or 8 absolute. It goes in Ram Cummins diesel trucks with the 5.9 L.

I noticed my fuel pressure to CP3 pump has fallen to 5 psi from 7 psi, so one of the 3 is filling up and I have not changed the OEM (Baldwin) since I got truck last year, when I installed the extra filters. Still drives fine, full power.

I used for a primary a DD 60 series filter head with WIX 33118

I’ve bought a ton of Baldwin filters for my Cummins and for my in-laws diesel genset. They all come shrink wrapped.

Have one ready for an oil change right now:

I can’t say I’ve ever gotten a cartridge type filter (as opposed to the spin on I show above) that isn’t in a box to protect it and keep it clean.

I can see the potential of a white box if it’s going to an OEM/re-labeler, but you should ask Baldwin...

I used Baldwin oil and primary fuel filters all the time on my 2017 3500. Great filters. They are the OEM supplier of the primary filter for this truck.

Email their product specialist. I had several questions a few years ago and found them to be very helpful, prompt and extremely easy to deal with.

Got them, they look real. They came in Baldwin boxes. They do have a serial number printed on them.

It’s best to not poke a hole in the cello at the threaded area. There is a high potential of a piece of cello getting into the outlet of the filter and then into the fuel system.

I've helped someone on here that bought filters for a HD engine off of eBay...they were sent to our facility in TN and inspected...counterfeit.

I know ordering filters from Amazon, eBay is tempting, but it's a roll of the dice on whether you're going to get legitimate products or not. If it's going on a lawnmower, maybe who cares. If it's going on an engine that's making you or someone else money...probably want to reconsider.
