Blackstone Comments: Universal averages for a Jeep transfer case give you an idea of typical wear after ~44K miles on the oil. Next to those, there is some extra metal in this sample, but don't be too put off by that. This is the factory fill, so a fair amount of the metal is just lingering material from the initial wear-in period plus normal accumulation over the past 64K miles. We should see a lot of progress with each oil change. No contaminants or oxidized solids were present. TAN is fine at 1.2. Resample in 65K miles.

Looks pretty good. My F150's Borg-Warner T-case showed 603 ppm of iron with 91k miles on the factory fill. At least I hope it was the FF with that much iron (I bought it with 81k miles). It wasn't full when I drained it, either (concentrating the wear metal ppm count).
