I used to be able to place the cursor over the avatar of the message sender and get a link to their profile. Not anymore after clearing the computer cache. How to get that back?

I just went to messenger.com and had to click on the avatar in order to avail a link to view their profile.
Nothing happens when I click on it.
OK, so here come the usual suspects in terms of questions:
What browser are you using? Have you tried messenger.com on a different browser?
Is it up to date?
What OS?
Are you using any browser-based ad- or script-blocking add-ons or extensions?
By what method did you clear the system's cache?
I could easily see this happening if you had simply cleared your browser's cache: Your browser may have cached the javascript library or portions of a framework that allowed for the information to be displayed on you mousing over the avatar. Facebook could have changed that behaviour but your browser continued to perform the "old" way because of the cached javascript. Once you cleared that and the page was reloaded you were subject to the "new" code/ behaviour. I can only suppose that in cleaning the system cache you used software that cleared out browser caches as well.
