Answered above. 4 Fasteners and a rubber panel pops off, no need to take off wheel.I read on this site that the front tire has to come off for an oil filter change. Is this true?
If so, I wouldn’t be interested in the least. F150 for sure or look into Tacoma or Frontier if you want midsize.
Good to know on the oil filter. Wheel removal seemed a bit excessive.Answered above. 4 Fasteners and a rubber panel pops off, no need to take off wheel.
Frontier and Tacoma both come up short on towing, plus the Tacoma gets into F150 territory $$ wise to get you to the higher capability trucks.

If you’re worried about towing, I wouldn’t be looking at a midsize. That’s like buying a 25 hp tractor and arguing gear drive is better than hydrostatic because it has 1.5more HP at the PTO.. If that’s a concern, just go bigger.
No idea on current costs, but when my brother was vehicle shopping a few years ago, the dealer had a fully loaded Tacoma minus leather for 32k.
My main issue with the Ranger is how it has a van like front end.. much like the current Honda Ridgeline.
I don't like the Fusionesque front end on the Ranger.
Looking at the Ram site, $29,595 MSRP for a completely stripped 1500 classic tradesman with the V8. Regular cab, long bed. So yea I suppose you could get a hemi, but no one buys that truck. I was out the door for under $29,000 (Including the advelorum we pay here in GA).I really like the new ranger but its priced more than a hemi ram 1500, of course the gas mileage is better.
typically (as in 4-5x last year) rams go for about 12-14k off and its not a percentage.Looking at the Ram site, $29,595 MSRP for a completely stripped 1500 classic tradesman with the V8. Not saying you can't do it, but if you shop right and don't want a Lariat the Ranger is still a good deal. Loaded to the hilt at over 40K, no way, I'd look at a lower model fullsize.
